Oklahoma City is the only city outside of Southern California that is hosting the entirety of a sport during the 2028 Olympic Games

October 20th was historic for Oklahoma City as we marked the 1,000-day countdown to the 2028 Olympics with LA28 leaders. Oklahoma City stands out as the only city outside Southern California hosting entire sports — canoe slalom and softball — for the Games, with seven events over sixteen days.

The countdown celebration at the renowned softball stadium showcased our partnership with LA28 and the magnitude of this opportunity. Highlights included remarks from LA28 Chairperson & President Casey Wasserman, joined by Olympic officials, city leaders, and Team OKC.

With excitement building, Oklahoma City now looks ahead to an unforgettable summer as the countdown to the 2028 Olympics continues!
